Collecting in one city and giving the car back in another
Yes, a car can be collected in one city and returned in the other. The booking system treats every pick-up point as its own city, so a car taken in Ulcinj and returned in Podgorica is a one-way and is priced as one. Nothing else about the rental changes: the same conditions, the same cover, the same deposit. A one-way removes the drive back to the pick-up point, such as on the day you fly. Set both places in the form to see the price of the car that makes the day possible.
The reverse also works: collect in Podgorica and drive south. The airport is about 10 km and twenty minutes from the city, and either can be the collection point.
A handover in the city
The handover itself works the same way it does anywhere in this country: a person, a time and a place, agreed with you and shown on the car before you reserve.
Keep the phone reachable. The conditions require the number given at booking, with its country code, to be available throughout the rental and on the day before pick-up, on WhatsApp, Viber or Telegram as well as by call. It is how a meeting point is confirmed or moved.
Documents are unchanged wherever you collect: a national licence with the details in Latin script, not a copy, and the deposit card physical and in the main driver’s name. Both are set out clause by clause on the airport page.
Parking, fines and the tunnel
The conditions put fuel, parking, fines and tolls on the renter for the whole rental. City parking is paid parking. Read the parking sign before walking away from the car.
The direct road between the coast and Podgorica runs through the Sozina tunnel, which carries a charge. The old road over the pass is slower. Either way the charge is yours under the same clause as the parking.
Fuel goes back at the level you were given, with the difference charged at the company’s rates if it is lower and nothing back if it is higher. Time runs in whole days with a twenty-four hour minimum, so a car collected on Monday morning and returned Tuesday afternoon is two days, and if the trip stretches, tell the rental company before the rental ends rather than after.
The drive and Lake Skadar
Podgorica is 78 km from Ulcinj, about an hour and forty minutes. The road leaves the coast, climbs to the tunnel and drops onto the Zeta plain. In July and August the coastal end of it queues. Virpazar is 50 km from Ulcinj, about sixty-five minutes, on the road between the two, so the south shore of Lake Skadar can be combined with the drive to the capital.
North of the capital the distances are longer.
