Drive times from Ulcinj
The capital is about an hour and forty minutes, Cetinje about an hour and fifty-five minutes, Kotor about two hours, Herceg Novi over two and a half, and the north four and more.
The coast road is single carriageway through towns, and the inland main road has one tunnel that carries a charge.
Lake Skadar
Virpazar is 50 km from Ulcinj and about sixty-five minutes, and the inland roads to the lake continue to the capital. Murici, on the southern shore, routes at 53 km and about eighty minutes, and the two routing engines disagree by twenty minutes over the same distance. That surface has not been measured, and the conditions permit paved public roads only.
Finishing somewhere else
If the week ends somewhere other than it started, a drop-off somewhere else is priced as a one-way. The towns available are the ones the feed actually serves: the coast from Bar up through Budva, the two airports, and Kolasin and Zabljak inland.

Walk round the car with the person handing it over and photograph the wheels, the windscreen, the underside and the interior: those four are what standard insurance excludes.

What the rental asks, wherever you take it
The conditions do not change with the distance. Wherever the week goes, the rental itself is an Ulcinj rental, and it wants the licence in Latin script rather than a copy, the deposit card physical and in the main driver’s name, and the phone number you booked with reachable throughout, including the day before pick-up.
Standard cover excludes the wheels, the undercarriage, the windscreen and the interior, and after any incident you tell the rental company immediately and get a police report unless they agree otherwise, or the cover on the car is cancelled. Fuel goes back at the level it was given, and tolls, parking and fines stay with the renter for the whole rental.
Extending is allowed when you tell the rental company in advance. Rentals run in whole days with a twenty-four hour minimum, so an extra afternoon is another day.
